Another suitably spooky spontaneous improvisation, this piece attempts to evoke the ghostly realms of Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld. Melinoe was the daughter of Hades and Persephone, the younger sister of Zagreus and Princess of the Underworld. She is a chthonic nymph - associated with ghosts and nightmares!

This piece was conjured up in an improvisation for performed on my very first 10-string lyre I taught myself to play, 20 years ago in 2006. Having recently fitted my old 10-string wooden lyre with a hand-carved new bridge & carved wooden plectrum, (which were made by Luthieros), it’s timbre is now much more complex & dark – perfect for evoking the dark, ghostly theme of this track.
