This unique track, is recorded from a live performance of the only piece of lyre music which actually came to me, conjured up in a dream! I even heard the ethereal accompaniment of an aulos, which carried this mysterious melody...

On the morning of 6th March, 2021, I woke up with this tune still in my head & before the trance-like dream-music evaporated back into the ethers, I grabbed my cell phone and used it to record the melodic outline which I sleepily hummed into the mic - this was to become track 9, "The Apparitions of The Apparitions of Phantasos" as first featured on my 2021 album, "Echoes of Ancient Greece".

To bring the dream-music more closely back to how I experienced it, this new live recording of the track is much more vividly mixed and mastered. It is performed here, with the rich, dark and deep timbre of my Luthieros ‘Lyre of Apollo III’

In ancient Greek mythology, Phantasos is one of the Oneiroi, a trio of gods who are in fact the sons of the god Hypnos, along with Morpheus and Phobetor. Phantasos was the god of surreal dreams; he represents the inanimate objects seen in Prophetic dreams, images of earth, rock, water and wood. This also makes him as a result an aspect of Dream!
