In ancient Greek mythology, Hecate is a goddess capable of both good and evil. She was associated with witchcraft, magic, the Moon, doorways and creatures of the night like hell hounds and ghosts!

She was often depicted carrying a torch to remind of her connection with the night. In sculpture, she has three faces for her role as the goddess of boundaries and the guardian of crossroads.

In this improvisation, I attempt to evoke the mystery & sinister sorcery of Hecate, using a personally modified variant of an ancient musical mode (equivalent intervals as C# D D# F# G A A# C# D), whose mystical quality is further enhanced by the use of just intonation. I also demonstrate some more exotic possibilities of my carved goats horn plectrum, other than merely plucking the strings of my lyre.
